You may have noticed that in the past week the lights have been on at the firehouse till late in the evening. Members have been working long and hard to get our 1979 Mack prepared for the SPAMFAA (Society for the Preservation and Appreciation of Antique Motor Fire Apparatus in America) Summer National Muster held today in Cooper River Park, NJ. We had to battle rain this morning to get there and had to then clean the truck again. The rain cleared off shortly after we arrived and the crew jumped on it before the judging began. The hard work paid off as we captured the Best In Class award and were also presented with the William Stroop award, given to the person or group who best displays the dedication of preserving antique fire apparatus.
